As we look back at 2022, it's clear that the field of artificial intelligence (AI) has made some very important strides. From breakthroughs in natural language processing and computer vision to improved adoption of AI by businesses, we've seen several milestones. It's no doubt that AI will continue its explosive growth into 2023. However, given the rapid pace of change, it's important to separate meaningful advancements from distracting fads. To understand the top AI trends, I asked industry leaders and academic experts five questions. It's the age of human-machine collaboration, so what better way to demonstrate this than by asking AI software about the 2023 AI trends it's excited about?

NASA's Perseverance celebrated its 100th Martian day on Tuesday since the rover put its massive wheels in the dusty landscape of the Red Planet on February 18. Perseverance, nicknamed Perky, has since hit a number of milestones that could not only help NASA find life, but also pave the way for humans to one-day walk on Mars. These achievements include recording sounds on Mars, making oxygen using carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and sending back more than 75,000 pictures of the Martian world. The car-sized vehicle also helped the US space agency fly the first powered drone, Ingenuity, on another world and is currently on a mission, exploring the Jezero Crater, to find signs of ancient microbial life. Strapped atop an Atlas V-541 rocket, the rover and its travel companion, Ingenuity, took off from Launch Complex 41 at 4:50am ET. NASA held a live briefing on February 18, as the world waited to learn if the rover and helicopter survived the'seven minutes of terror.'

Fast forward, I graduated and got an internship focusing on machine learning, where they offered me a full-time position in Data Science! This might be an extra scoop lol but I was part of an art program in high school, and when my journey in CS started, I feared I would lose that creativity in me. Luckily, I discovered as I got more into programming that my left and right side of the brain complement each other more and more, just as grapes and cheese do.
